I’ve been busy working on paintings for my solo show in November. Here are some sneaky peeky shots of the progress. I’ll admit it, I have no idea what I’m doing and these are very far off from the initial sketches I did.
I’m pleased to announce I was awarded a Artists with Disabilities Access Program grant by the Ohio Arts Council in an effort to bring my biomorphic series together as a solo exhibition for the first time!
This will be taking place in Cleveland this summer, more show info will be announced. The great part about this grant is it allows me to go larger with this work and will help pay for the costs associated with putting on an exhibition.
I will always paint people and portraits, but sometimes it is nice to take a break from that and work from a place of abstraction. I’ve only shown these paintings in group shows, in batches of 3, so I’m excited to be able to do a room full of these organisms!
